In Sweden, where I live, civilians are not allowed to carry firearms or
knives (not even pen-knives). Also non-lethal weapons such as mace
("tear-gas spray") are off-limits to civilians.

In the EU zone, only the Czech Republic has anything like the US gun
situation.  Everywhere else, it's rare to see guns outside a shooting range
or a computer game.
