[hackerspaces] Trade School - barter for instruction

I stumbled on an interesting project akin to hackerspaces today ...

Basically teachers offer a class in exchange for goods provided by students ...
They are starting their 3rd year and have gotten similar schools started in a variety of cities/countries.

They have a Kickstarter running and are a bit shy of 1/2 way to goal (w/24 days to go)

The funding is to go to building the open source software platform and help them get 15 more schools running this summer.
(note: they wont get funds till august at least, given kickstarter payment schedules, so summer is pretty optimistic)

Their PDF "How To" has some principles, liability text, etc that sounds very cool.

Has anyone worked with these folks?
IMHO a hackerspace would be a great place to host a Trade School.
although it might conflict with non-barter paid classes/events that spaces often hold.
