I stumbled on an interesting project akin to hackerspaces today ...<br><br><a href="http://tradeschool.coop/about">http://tradeschool.coop/about</a><br><div><br></div><div>Basically teachers offer a class in exchange for goods provided by students ...</div><div>They are starting their 3rd year and have gotten similar schools started in a variety of cities/countries.<br><br></div><div>They have a Kickstarter running and are a bit shy of 1/2 way to goal (w/24 days to go)</div><div> <a href="http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/OurGoods/trade-school-learning-spaces-that-run-on-barter">http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/OurGoods/trade-school-learning-spaces-that-run-on-barter</a></div><div>The funding is to go to building the open source software platform and help them get 15 more schools running this summer.</div><div>(note: they wont get funds till august at least, given kickstarter payment schedules, so summer is pretty optimistic)</div><div><br></div><div>Their PDF "How To" has some principles, liability text, etc that sounds very cool.</div><div> <a href="http://tradeschool.coop/public/startaTS.pdf">http://tradeschool.coop/public/startaTS.pdf</a></div><div><br></div><div>Has anyone worked with these folks?</div><div>IMHO a hackerspace would be a great place to host a Trade School.</div><div>although it might conflict with non-barter paid classes/events that spaces often hold.</div><div><br><div>
