We don't generally (formally) allow it at revspace, which I think is a bit
of a pity. I have crashed at dozens of hackerspaces over the past year
though, and most have couches. One actually had beds (brmlab, where I slept
in the 'dirty corner' :) I've been sleeping on concrete floors, little
alcoves high up in a space and the drinking loft in a machine shop (hey 23b :).

I have not been at a space where there is any formal arrangement though,
neither in the states nor in europe. And never did i have to pay, apart
from sometimes cooking people a meal.

I'm just thankful that people let me stay at a space, it's great to know
people trust you even though they never met you. Usually they have done
some kind of background check, if only by googling me :) I guess at
my own space, it also kind of depends who it is, what the circumstances are,
etc. We have had people sleeping here, but not often.
