Yes. AS220 Labs was spun up out of a collaboration with MIT. We didn't 
get any funding from them, just guidance and support. We did a bunch of 
fundraising to raise the capital for the initial hardware expenses 
(Epilog Laser, Roland Milling Machine, Video Conferencing gear, etc). We 
have members like any other hackerspace. I don't see much difference 
between a FabLab and a hackerspace. A rose by any other name...
