[sudoroom] electronic access

I agree, the power supply would be trivial, and voiding the warranty would be meaningless because I'm certain any number of us could fix a solenoid-based bar-pusher if it were to somehow burn out, or have magnets fall out of place or whatever. I would propose giving a time limit for shopping around for alternatives, before allocating the funds for the solenoid bar.
I won't be making it to tomorrow's meeting, so I'd appreciate if anyone else could adopt the extending of the wifi network to our room, otherwise I'll resume maybe on Saturday, or next week, I'd appreciate if someone with a key would make public when they would be in to open the place up.
I also would like to ask the group to take a moment at tomorrow's meeting to consider trying out loomio, a discussion & voting system that emerged from Occupy New Zealand. I'm not suggesting we adopt it as a final decision maker by any means, but as a discussion and polling system, I think it could easily be a better discourse & decision making system than the listserv, meriting a page of the sudoroom site for organizing the various irons we have in the fire. As opposed to a listserv, these discussions would all be categorized appropriately, would create no email spam, and would include the ability to freely poll support for various proposals.
I ask because their site is not currently public, and they ask for groups to agree to try the system before giving out beta access. There's no commitment, but I wouldn't want to create a sudoroom loomio page without the group's support. I've been talking with some of the developers, and they're clearly very nice people, and I'd love to support their project with our participation and feedback. I'm also looking at eventually tinkering with their source code to try adding some features, it's a great platform to start.
Anyway, I don't intend to start a huge discussion on the matter here, but in my absence if the group could discuss the notion at the meeting, I'd love to get the ball moving and try out this experimental deliberation system in a real-life environment.
Thanks for your time,
-Dan Finlay
