I believe that giving voters receipts has problems because of vote buying.

As for the blind, it shouldn't be too hard emboss ballots with braille and
raised circles to fill in. Then they are put in the ballot box. No reason
to compromise the vote with potentially massive and untraceable security
vulnerabilities.
