[sudoroom] Reminder: Meeting Tonight + Compact Stuff

Hi everyone,

i heard that the art murmur was a big success! very bummed to have missed
it, but looking forward to hearing all about it tonight.

regarding the compact, i'm also in favor of keeping it at 23 for the same
reasons that victoria listed.

regarding eddan's question on the best way to move forward, is it the
current situation that the draft of the compact is more or less written and
that we are now editing? or is there more writing that needs to happen on
it? if more writing, it might be helpful to have a list of the areas that
need attention so that we can finish writing, then finish editing, and then
finalize the text. i think we would all be very happy if we could finalize
the text of the compact tonight and get voting started. what do others
think about this?

PS - to eddan's point re: events coordinator, my personal perspective is
that i would prefer to not have an official events coordinator role...isn't
this a role that can be fluid based on who wants to organize what events?
so far, we've had pretty good luck letting people organize into ad hoc
groups of people who are interested in events around a particular issue,
keeping the larger group informed to allow others to join in the planning,
and letting everyone claim pieces of the planning that they can or are
willing to do. it HAS been a little chaotic, but i imagine that as we
continue to learn how to work together that we'll get better at this kind
of thing without the need for a formal "events coordinator" role. just my
two cents.
