Hi,

I'm looking for new hackerspace patterns on welcoming new and existing
people into your space. I'm familiar with a few, but wondering what
other ones are out there.

The ones I know:

* Have regular public events
* Spot and actively welcome new people coming into the space, give them
a tour of the space, tell them a bit about the community, invite them to
ask questions.
* Diversity of subjects, the more fields you hack in, the more likely
someone will find something of their interest (don't over stretch
yourself either).
* Clean & Cozy, empty space invites usage and creativity, it's nice to
work in a space where you don't have to worry about what you step on or
if you need to wash your hands after touching anything. It's also nice
to be comfortable, couches, proper chairs&desks, snacks&drinks, nice
lighting, atmosphere, etc.

Which patterns have you seen that did and didn't work?

Thanks o/,

webmind.
