Sadly, this is Texas. Dallas Makerspace will be happy to have him, as
will every other hackerspace in an 0xFFFFFFFF kilometer radius, but
otherwise? Being a kid in some parts of Texas with the name "Ahmed
Mohamed" is a target roughly the size of being an Issei in San
Francisco shortly after Perl Harbor was hit.
(I tread very carefully with that statement; you'll see why)
I'm mixed on seeing various groups step in. On one hand, this is a case
of discrimination at its core; on the other, it's Texas, and it has a
very low chance of changing anything out of this.
Sad to say this will either make history in a good way or simply blip
on the radar.
Either way, that school may well have killed a kids' interest in STEM
