So peter should build his own group and become the leader so he actually understands what it's like to lead a group of people. Following doesn't automatically make someone dumb.

I'm not sure anyone can do that actually, he seems unable to take a hint either subtle or explicit from fellow participants. Also he assumes all communication by the leaders is bent on personal vendetta. What leader can possibly channel that kind of energy?
