[hackerspaces] DPL: Defensive Patent License -- and Hackerspaces

Very interesting idea, Ethan.
I think phrasing as a "design competition" or maybe something like "design
challenge" is a brilliant idea. In fact, I did just that:

In terms of prizes, sponsoring, etc, that could be potentially interesting.
I don't know who would want to fund such an abstract project, but perhaps
there are interested parties. Do you know of any?
