I'm pretty sure gnucash can DO these things by using accounting codes
and custom reports. it's not easy to setup or use, and requires some
in-depth accounting knowledge to get right. I've tried using gnucash
for managing a single 2-unit rental property and it's just too complex
for a common IT guy like me to deal with on a not-every-day basis.
rental property management software exists and handles accounting
stuff, why not have something for NPOs?
now, having the software be a gnucash front end, so that an accountant
can run gnucash against it with all it's advanced reporting and
exporting abilities, would be kinda awesome.
