[hackerspaces] Hackerspaces Re:Foundation (Was Re: Abuse Of Power)

Benefits of a foundation are fundamentally 2 fold.  Shared Resources, and
Risk Diversification.

This is just off the top of my head, we can probably do better.

Shared Resources:

Common Standards in APIs
Deployment of Software Resources for Spaces
Centralized Hard Resource ( maybe at some point offering a national
shapeways style fabrication for US, and an EU shapeways for EU kids.  pcb
fab... asic fab... )
Bargaining for better rates on insurance

Risk Diversification:

Legal Shields
Single point of contact for integration with EFF and other important orgs
An organization that can track and respond to issues that affect many
spaces or several
Single point of contact and legal stewardship for large investments /
donations

Just some off the top of my head thinking.
