The MakerBar has 25 shelves' worth of heavy-duty Gorilla Racks, and each member may use one to store whatever he pleases. Since our members either have tiny apartments or drive in from far off, this is close to a necessity for us.

Although we try to keep the worktables clean, we're permissive with letting members leave their projects and tools lying around. Not only does it promote sprawling, multi-day installations, but it makes the place feel a bit more active and sparks conversations.

We have a ton of cheap Tupperware-like plastic shoeboxes that anyone can borrow, which does encourage members to clean up.
