We like to start with the phrase "community group" to describe ourselves to the business world and gently go into "we're not criminals yet we use the word hacker". Each insurance company has its own bizarre issues, one place refused us because we might possibly sell kits (water rocket kits and electronics kits). I think the one we ended up with services the construction industry, they don't flinch when you mention "chop saw" or "drill press".

Apparently some insurance company googled our space and denied us because we affiliate with hackers. So I am wondering how did you get insurance? Will we have to change our name to get insurance? We are located in Virginia. We don't have any heavy equipment yet ( lazer cutters etc..) The only thing we have is a few soldering irons.
