Ah!  Life is so simple when we can characterize all our detractors as
"mindless dweebs."  But why stop there?  Why not demonize them
completely so we can just exterminate them like vermin?

Life is too short and the media have the money and the stage -- I
don't.  If you guys want to tilt at windmills to preserve your
precious "counterculture", then feel free.  I won't be guarding your
flanks.

I see the importance of the makerspace movement not as a
counterculture -- which I can live without -- but as a means of
educating people in their own capabilities.  That's where I plan to
direct my energies.
