Greetings fellow hackers,
I'm writing this email to you on behalf of Hack42, a Dutch hackerspace in
Arnhem. We will start with a brand new activity, called Hacktivity, on June
the 21st and I would like to talk to you about this.
The purpose of this email is threefold:
-To inform
-To inspire
-To inquire
Inform
Hacktivity is a recurring hack-activity (Hacktivity, get it? Brilliant pun,
I know ;) ) in which a group of hackers will hack a specific object together
and/or on an individual basis. The object is determined beforehand and (when
necessary) were purchased by the organizers. This may be cheap junk from
online or local stuff. Participants won't be told what the hackable object
is until the Hacktivity has started. This element of surprise calls upon the
creativity and imagination of participants.
Hacking, creativity, but especially fun will take center stage. For these
reasons no workshop with an imposed target, but Freedom!
More info ( in Dunglish) can be found at:

Inspire
Hack42 would consider it an honor if hackerspaces around the world follow in
her footsteps and organize their own Hacktivities. Change in such a way that
it fits your hackerspace and spread the word. We'd love to see pictures and
stories of successful events.
Inquire
There is a lot of knowledge out there, knowledge we can use. If you've got
any experience with similar events, or know how to attract more people to
your events, please don't hesitate to share.
Yours,
Lurwah / Tijmen
P.S. If you have the opportunity to join one of our Hacktivities, please do
so. A specific Hacktivity calender (Agenda) can be found at
