We (Hive76) are using on open office spreadsheet. Basic layout is as follow
Sheet 1: Regular income (member dues, up to 4 months. Always write in
dollar amounts. color past-due fields red. )
Sheet 2. Regular expenses (Rent/Internet/Coffee. up to 4 months.)
Sheet 3 - m: Irregular income (Classes, events, donations. Only 3-4
events per page)
Sheet m - n: Irregular expenses (Classes, events, donations. Only 3-4
events per page)
Sheet n+1: Reconciliation - Adding totals from other sheets, and
balance from bank account.
We update the spreadsheet periodiclly (every week or so). Every 4
months (once so far) we store the old, and create a new blank one. We
carry the bank, paypal, and other totals over into a new
Reconciliation sheet, and start again for 3-4 months.
That is what we do. Not the best system, but it works for us. I'd be
interesting in hearing if/how/who/what has a better setup, I'm sure
there are a lot better ideas we can use or draw from.
hack on,
