last night a kind stranger offered a ham to us.  seemed like no takers, so i stepped up as he was leaving the room to receive the bounty, not inclined to pass up free meat.  well i wasn't sure how it would turn out, but i converted most of it into delicious split pea and ham soup.  i was unable to transport the vat with me this morning, but if i can get a ride sometime this afternoon to the other side of the lake, i'm sure it would yield several hearty dinner portions for hungry sudoers tonight.
