came across an interesting methodology to holding meetings at amazon which
has the potential to help our weekly meetings...
in amazons case, the facilitator of the meeting writes a 6-page memo and
distributes it to the attendees for a half-hour, individual, quiet reading
& review at the beginning. this forces everyone to be, literally, on the
same page and gets away from all kinds of disruptions that traditional
presentations evoke - eg questions coming up that would be answered later
in the presentation.
how do you feel about fleshing out the agenda beforehand (wiki/notes) and
everyone engaging individually through the wiki/notes at the beginning of
the meeting? live discussion can augment afterwards, but would ideally just
be a chance for all of us to socialize irl.
thoughts?
