I understand the desire to keep the mythos around Rubicon, but it would be nice to see something back in Detroit.

First reply on the new list...

And http://lists.hackerspaces.org/mailman/listinfo/ is sorta interesting. Not a lot of stuff there, yet. Funny thing is that Pen isn't even hackerspace-tied. A few subscribers here are also members of i3 detroit, but how to the folks at hs.o feel about hosting a 2600-meeting list? Such as we are...

Yeah, it's funny when I think about it, how much of my present life is actually traceable to just a handful of people in high school, which resulted in me getting out to that first meeting. The cast and plot since that point are known to many folks on this list, but leading up to it, that's a different story. One driven more by internal curiosity than social forces, which makes it distinct from later phases.

Y'know, I've never made it out for ShmooCon, and I'd love to, but tix are unobtanium and I can't think of a talk to submit. Much of my knowledge that would be interesting to that crowd is stale by a decade now, and the recent stuff is under NDA. ;)

Ended up in NYC a few weeks back, but didn't have much in the way of free time. Will definitely touch base next time I'm in the DC area!

P.S. The default reply-to currently points to the author, not the list, so my first attempt at a reply was thwarted. Sorry the subject line still had [Pen] in it when it hit your email; I usually change that to [off-list] when replying off-list, to avoid confusion.
