[Hackupy-discuss] oakland occucopter meeting and developments

Hey, so I'm now using the @occucopter twitter for updates, so this
might be the last flood to your inbox (to avoid Rubin sodomizing the
list with threats).

As seen on the twitpic, We built a frame last night! It's heavy! A lot
of the weight on that is in the extensions and uprights that will
theoretically protect the rotors as we learn to fly the little
beastie.

Today, I got all of the initial rotors (2 sets of 4 10"), as well as
the remaining sensors. We are motors, ESCs and battery away from
flight!

Tomorrow (Tuesday) at DSC, I'll be showing it off and working on the
motor mounts, as well as giving demos of the software to show its
capabilities. There are some ~140 dollar 1.3 Ghz transmitters for
video that I've seen just recently that are worth discussing as well.
Perhaps first person streaming video is a possibility after all?

Either way, hanging out at the DSC tomorrow, with some occucopter
discussion pertaining to our build, but I'd also like to hear how
other builds are going.
