[Finance] Startup Costs

When Denhac started, we had 5 people who put in "seed" money to get
things started. Besides money for rent and utils (including internet),
we also had to buy "housekeeping" items for the space - trash cans,
toiletry items, stuff to keep everything clean with, lightbulbs, tables,
chairs, as well as setting money aside for initial costs, e.g. making
spare keys, security deposit on the space, registering with Colorado/IRS
as a business, etc. That's off the top of my head, so expect other
expenses to pop up. To give you some idea, we started off with $1500. At
the same time, I have heard of hackerspaces starting off with much less.
I have also heard of some needing more. I guess it just depends on what
you want to start off with. I wish you the best of luck! Where are you
starting a hackerspace at?
