[hackerspaces] Wanted: your Hackerspace Design Patterns

Smething that I think works quite well at Technologia Incognita is the
'pledge system'. Our membership fees largely only fund rent + basics
(cleaning stuff), so from that we don't get toys like scope's, bench
multimeters, lab powersupplies, machine saws, kitchens, etc. So we setup
a pledge, then ask people to contribute to a certain cause such as
getting plumbing, a new openable window orso and people will pledge a
certain ammount of money for the cause and when the goal is reached, the
person who set up the pledge will arrange that it will be achieved.

This and loans & donations gotten us quite a nice space over time.
