[hackerspaces] Fwd: boy scouts suing hacker scouts

It's very disappointing that the BSA have resorted to legal means to defend a tenuous grasp on the term. "Scout" is a very old word with a far longer lineage than "boy scouts." Surely nobody will be confused by the distinction between boy scouts and hacker scouts. It would be sad if this was simply a defense of the term by an organization strained by conflict and confused by progressive uses of the word hacker. To me, as ex-scout, the slow movement of the BSA towards being more open and the hacker scouts existing as an alternative option both seem like welcome developments for engaging youth in extracurricular activities.
