If someone made a post like that about canonical yes.  I would.
Ubuntu... maybe.  One is an open source project the other a for profit
entity.

That being said there are cultural artifacts that would color my
views.  One such would be club mate... a brand with a rather strong
following in the hacker community.  But probably against its own
wishes.

It's a tough call.  But honestly that email STILL looks like spam.
Seriously.  It does.  100%.
