[hackerspaces] Beginning projects?

Pretty much everything that has been said so far, to which I'll add basic
kits that let you train on basic skills. LoL shields are fun for
programming LED matrixes, using Arduinos and soldering like hell.
TV-B-Gones are fun for basic soldering as well.
