Homestly i think its dead since this talk:

After this i have seen a lot of "build hackerspaces!"  "howto build a 
hackerspace with example xyz" or others.

Hackerspaces are not a new think. CCC Hamburg is around 25 years old for 
example.

Personally i totally agree with openfly and would call for something 
different.
