[hackerspaces] Fwd: [austin-hacker-space] Speaking at Defcon

Actually what we did for notacon the past two years was just run an open
hardware hacking arena.  Get enough hackerspace folks to run an hour event a
piece or just sit around for an hour or two watching and being helpful.

Work with folks like Mitch Altman to get people to build kits... hack their
badges... and so on.

I mean just plain DOMINATE the hardware hacking village, and make it very
clear you are from a hackerspace and that this shit exists in their town and
they can be a part of it.

That's the easy way to do what you want to do.

If you want to do a presentation... talk about a specific project... such as
the multihackerspace space balloon event... or the power wheels racing
series... or INSERT SOMETHING AWESOME YOU DID HERE.

Then just make it an demonstration of why hackerspaces are awesome...
through what it is they are capable of.
