That's basically what it is. We (by we I mean, people other than me)
were going to deploy one in the Austin area, and for various reasons
that TechShop management wanted "us" to keep quiet about, it fell
through. I don't think the business model works out, and frankly I'd
rather have a hackerspace :-). The gym membership model just doesn't
seem to work.

This reminds me! Some items on my todo list:
* (start to) write up a fablab, techshop, hackerspace FAQ
* actually publish something that analyzes the economics of it

Btw, I really dislike economics and money, so I might be the poor
choice for that writeup.
