Yes it was aggressive and flaming, but it was also I felt I needed to
say. And because I feel we need to communicate well I think I should be
able to express myself, but also provide the subtext that the remarks
are aggressive.

I agree, but I don't think pushing your own values on others is a good
way to communicate, and I do think it should be possible vent ones
frustrations, aslong as people are aware that they do and are seen as such.
