Julian,
The last time I flew I shipped my Nikons and lenses in a locked
Pelican case as air freight with FedEx, delivered straight to my
hotel's manager who kept them until I arrived. Most photographers with
large amounts of gear do this. Freight has more rights and civil
liberties then we, as humans, do.
