While that is nice, i'm not in hackerspaces for public perception, i'm in it
for meeting all the other geeks/hackers/nerds/artists, and share knowledge
and fun.

True, I tend to make the papers from time to time, and help polish the public
perception, but to me that is mostly colateral. I don't care much about
public opinion anyway.
