Attitude changed.

Sounds like for woodworkers, common knowledge changed quickly, and
although maybe physical setup/setting didn't, their attitude did.

In the realm of human endeavors, the attitude of the folks are what
matters.  Sometimes one article, or one trip (Hackers On A Plane #1),
or one person (Nick 'I can't stop ranting about hackerspaces' Farr)
can make a huge difference in 'common knowledge'.
