Again this year, the MetaRheinMainChaosDays offer an extensive program
which focuses on data privacy and civil rights.

On the first evening, interested visitors will have the opportunity to
discuss the future of data privacy and informational
self-determination with the Federal Minister of Justice of Germany,
Ms. Brigitte Zypries. For this, padeluun, a well-known privacy
activist, and Dr. Julius Mittenzwei, CCC member and lawyer, will join
Ms. Zypries, radio host Holger Klein will moderate the discussion.
Admission to the debate is free of charge. Afterwards, the rest of the
evening can be enjoyed with cool drinks and summer rhythms.

The discussion is an excellent introduction to the following two-day
conference which takes place in the Piloty building of the Darmstadt
University of Technology. The broad variety of the conference offers
many interesting lectures for visitors interested in politics and
technology. The topics range from latest developments in the field of
encrypted communication over the Internet to ways of avoiding
censorship to socio-political topics.

In addition to the technical part, the mrmcd0×8h will provide plenty
of time for hacker culture, productive talks far off mainstream as
well as a lively exchange of ideas. According to the organizers,
coffee junkies will have nothing to worry about.

The MetaRheinMainChaosDays are scheduled for September 4-6, 2009, at
the Darmstadt University of Technology (TU Darmstadt). Tickets for the
conference on Saturday and Sunday are available in advance for €10.

Auch die diesjährigen MetaRheinMainChaosDays bieten wieder ein
umfangreiches Programm um die Themen Datenschutz und Bürgerrechte.

Gleich am ersten Abend versuchen interessierte Gäste zusammen mit
Bundesjustizministerin Brigitte Zypries eine Antwort zu finden, wie
der Datenschutz und die informationelle Selbstbestimmung in Zukunft
aussehen könnten. Dabei diskutiert die Ministerin mit dem bekannten
Datenschutzaktivisten padeluun und dem CCC-Mitglied und Rechtsanwalt
Dr. Julius Mittenzwei. Durch das Gespräch führt der Radiomoderator
Holger Klein. Der Eintritt ist frei. Anschließend kann man bei
kühlen Drinks und sommerlichen Rhythmen den Abend ausklingen lassen.

Die Diskussion ist der ideale Einstieg in die darauf folgende
zweitägige Konferenz im Pilotygebäude der TU Darmstadt. Im breiten
Spektrum der Konferenz finden sich interessante Vorträge für
politisch und technisch interessierte Besucher. Die Themen reichen
dabei von neuesten Entwicklungen im Bereich der verschlüsselten
Kommunikation im Internet, über Zensur-Umgehungsmöglichkeiten bis
hin zu sozialpolitischen Themen.

Neben dem fachlichen Teil bieten die mrmcd0×8h aber auch dieses Jahr
wieder genug Freiräume für Hackerkultur, produktive Gespräche
abseits des Mainstreams und allgemeinen Austausch. Die Versorgung
mit Koffein in verschiedenster Form ist laut den Veranstaltern
gesichert.

Die MetaRheinMainChaosDays finden dieses Jahr vom 4.-6. September an
der TU Darmstadt statt. Der Eintritt für die Konferenz am Samstag
