will be really concerned that their men don't die when there's a fire at
your place. So they want to see it before there's a fire and map out
where the potential hazards are. That means, they are the most
incentivized to look for actual risks, as opposed to bureaucratic rules.
They can also help you figure the rest out and make introductions with
all the other city people. These would be hazardous waste, planning
department, and maybe business permits (if there is a business). The
Sheriff is optional, but probably a good idea, because if they discover
you independently, their first assumption will be meth lab, and that
creates all kinds of unnecessary brouhah for you, and expense for them. <div>

<br><br></div>At BioCurious we are in Santa Clara county so we have to
comply with their dept and have a permit...it basically stipulates the
amount of chemmicals on premise and also requires you to store it
appropriately. They send an inspector at least once a year to look to
make sure you are not putting stuff that will explode next to each other
in the cabinets, etc. <div>
<br></div><div>Otherwise, do not go looking for regulations...most
buildings are violating many codes, including most commercial biotech
operations...will probably not be adhering to the letter of the law if
the govt ever wants to look for an infraction. </div>
