Hello All,

Thursday I visited Nimbyspace. In a nutshell (which does no justice to 
the space) Nimbyspace rents shipping containers for a modest fee and 
allows use of communal tools, work rooms and meeting spaces.

The fees are:

$350 per month for a 20' container
$700 per month for a 40' container

If you rent a container the owners will customize it to your 
specifications (within reason). The space is mainly occupied by artists 
and is heavily associated with Burning Man productions, though there is 
a wide variety of activity including glassblowing and urban farming. 
Needles to say, the place is awesome in an industrial kind of way. Think 
of Noisebridge with welders instead of laptops.

Nimbyspace sits about .5 miles from the Oakland Coliseum BART station at 
the end of a cul-de-sac. There are sidewalks the entire way.  They 
supply keylocks for 24 hour access.
