Hi folks,<div><br></div><div>I'd heard this had happened, but here's a link to details:</div><div><br></div><div> <a href="http://makerspace.com/2012/01/16/darpa-mentor-award-to-bring-making-to-education/">http://makerspace.com/2012/01/16/darpa-mentor-award-to-bring-making-to-education/</a></div>
<div><br></div><div><br></div><div>I guess the good news is it demonstrates that DARPA see value in the maker community: hackerspaces, makerspaces, fablab's, etc.</div><div><br></div><div>Although apparently "aimed at engaging high school students", it strikes me that some of the points called out in the article relate to what we've proposed it terms of "collaborative distributed manufacturing and design experiments", mentoring and supporting the maker/ hacker approach to problem solving and design, etc</div>
<div><div><br class="Apple-interchange-newline">What I'm not sure about is what impact it would/ should have - if any - in shaping or modifying the current proposal to DARPA.</div><br class="Apple-interchange-newline">
