The restrictions on firearm storage is a matter of liability, and the organisation chooses to not be in possession (or implied possession) of a firearm. The prohibition on powder and primer storage is mainly due to the fact that we don't have a good place to store it, yet.

Out of curiosity, could you explain the storage restrictions? There's very little gunsmithing at our space, but it'd be a helpful reference if it ever comes up. At the moment someone's got a box of spent brass up in the craft room, but I think it's for jewelry, not reloading.

Sit down, lockpicking, you are no longer the hackerspace class most likely to raise eyebrows in lunchtime conversation at work! I love the heck out of this idea, seeing as how our space basically functions as a bill-of-rights fan club. Every freedom's a freedom, we don't play favorites.
(Our lathe was chosen because its bed is long enough to accommodate rifle barrels. Our ISP was chosen because they do minimal filtering and don't care if we run servers. Understanding why I mention these side-by-side is left to the reader.)
