I mean I know folks who just react as devils advocate, without digesting the problem at hand, and functioning that way is nearly impossible.

James

On Thu, Jul 12, 2012 at 11:38 AM, Pete Prodoehl <raster@gmail.com> wrote:
Do you find that there is a certain percentage who just don't care one way or the other? Like, there's 10% who just say "meh!" and never seem to feel positive or negative towards what others do and what happens around them?

My guess would be that even with smaller groups this is the case, but if so, I wonder if such a percentage can be calculated at all.

(Yeah, that doesn't help you at all now does it!?)
At Pumping Station: One we've used do-ocracy

day one. However, at 140 members I wonder if the system breaks down.
It's not practical to "ask around" and see if anyone minds if the
bikeshed is painted pink. Someone's going to oppose almost anything you
want to do, and more people want to ask questions and bounce the issue
between themselves with not much productive output. And if we're
talking about an action that's not reversible, like getting rid of
"useless junk" that someone else thinks is very valuable, it can really
blow up.

Does anyone else have experience using do-ocracy at a large scale, and
how has it worked out for you?
