<html><head></head><body style="word-wrap: break-word; -webkit-nbsp-mode: space; -webkit-line-break: after-white-space; ">Hi guys,<div><br></div><div>A couple of months back I learned about the SpaceFED project. One of the goals of the project is to build a federated Wi-Fi authentication network for hackerspaces. It the time, I liked the idea, but since only two hackerspaces were working on it, I left it for what it was.</div><div><br></div><div>When I was traveling Europe this month, I've visited a couple of hackerspaces and noticed each of them has a wireless network, but authentication is not consistent across them. One hackerspace had a nice QR-code on the wall containing SSID and WPA key, others required some manual configuration.</div><div><br></div><div>Anyway, this reminded me about the SpaceFED network and it seems a couple more hackerspaces are connected now. Although not published in their wiki yet, I heard spaces from four different countries are involved already.</div><div><br></div><div>I'd like to think that the project already is successful, since it's being used for months already and hackers benefit from it. However, we could all take more advantage from this project if more hackerspaces would participate. Therefore, I'd like to invite you to check out the project wiki at <a href="https://spacefed.net/wiki/index.php/Spacenet">https://spacefed.net/wiki/index.php/Spacenet</a></div><div><br></div><div>Regards,</div><div>Mark</div><div><br></div><div>PS. full disclosure: I'm not involved with the project, but I do know the guys who started it</div></body></html>
