I think that the Islamic calendar is going to be the best shot for now.

I completely agree with seasonality, eating based on what is around in the season or what you prepare for the winter etc. Work more in the spring, summer and start to prepare during the autumn for the winter and take your "off time" during the winter season (I write from the point of view of Northern hemisphere, temperate climate). Now when the moon comes in. Well my opinion and experience goes like this. The lunar phase has very strong effect on whole nature and man included, at least I think that is the case (together with most of our ancestors). I've seen visually what the moon does with the sea in Alaska and well it just fit for me.
In other words it is an ancient knowledge which has been with the "natives" for millenniums. I could may be say that sun is being kind of bigger clock, like moon = hours; sun = day. It may be not the best comparison but I think that the effect of the moon would be good to take as a major for the day to day activities.

Anyway I'll have to investigate more on that and I think that to switch for lunar calendar will help me to be able to see the effects of the moon phases on me more clearly, so in a year or two I can report on that a bit, it will take time ...

Thanks for help and we can discuss this further however I'm now hitting 28c3 so I'm going to be a bit crazy for the next week or so!

Frantisek Algoldor Apfelbeck

biotechnologist&kvasir and

Some companies use 13 months yearly calendar for easier computation of
holidays and per-day salaries.

There are some well-thought-out solutions :
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Calendar_reform#13-month_calendars

Note however that these calendars are still solar-year based as they try
to have the same date matching the same period of the solar cycle
(equinoxes happen on the same date every year for instance).

> I'm trying to find something what would be kind of used by more people
> so there is a support from community, some ideas?

The Islamic calendar
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Islamic_calendar is lunar based, and
therefore every year it shifts in the solar cycle (some years Ramadan
happen in winter on some other in summer). That is the cost of going to
a lunar-based rhythm : your calendar is useful for moon phases but as
hard to use for seasons as a Gregorian calendar is for moon
phases. It
has however a strong supporting community.

> The major deal for me is to get tuned with the moon cycle so I'm more
> in harmony with nature.

It sounds strange to me that you consider the moon to be more in harmony
with nature than the sun or that you think moon phases have more
influence on nature than seasons, but whatever suits you. Note that
there are a lot of urban legends about the importance of moon cycles in
several process (menstruations, planting of crops, childbirths, etc...).
Tides are the only verified influence I am aware of.

On 12/25/2011 03:31 PM, Frantisek Apfelbeck wrote:
>
> The major deal for me is to get tuned with the moon cycle so I'm more
> in harmony with nature.
>
> Thanks for any links and info.
>
> Sincerely,
>
> Frantisek Algoldor Apfelbeck
>
> biotechnologist&kvasir and
