I happen to live in this area of Amsterdam, but I wouldn't directly disapprove of the use of dna-spray in this case.<div>Shops that want to participate, have a dna-spray installed in their doors and in case of a robbery the thieves will be sprayed upon when leaving the store.</div>
<div><br></div><div>Amsterdam West has quite a problem over the past years with violent robberies. A couple of months ago the owner of jewelry store was robbed and murdered for instance. Small tabacco shops close their stores, as they are being robbed over and over again and they cannot afford security guys.</div>
<div><br></div><div>So far the installation of the dna-spray seems to have preventative effects. In the test area Amsterdam South, there has been a substantial drop in robberies. The spray itself did not immediately lead to much more arrests.</div>
