There is a product that is similar to Club Mate in Canada called Sol Mate:

http://www.drinksolmate.com/ (Warning: Site is almost entirely done in Flash)

Instead of using Glucose-Fructose, Sol Mate uses Organic Cane Sugar. The major downside to Sol Mate in Canada is that it retails for $2.25 a bottle, and it's only 296 ml per bottle. I believe that Club Mate bottles are much larger, and the cost is something like $5. I sometimes pick it up on sale when there's surplus stock at one of the smaller grocery stores in East Vancouver.

(Note: These are approximations, assuming dollar amounts in USD)

We found at VHS that they taste identical when you combine them with Rum to make Tschunk.

There is a brewing process, and it should be relatively easy to buy Yerba Mate to brew in North America (it is in Vancouver, I just have to walk 2 blocks to get 2kg of the stuff for $4).

Well, loscher did admit it is atleast partially a brewing process, did
would also make sense due to the fact that club-mate improves over time.
How this would work in detail, no idea.

something else, I heard someone (forgot who), that there is a similar
product to club-mate available in canada, anyone know more?
