at Pumping Station: One (the hackerspace in Chicago), we don't have a membership application. the protocol is basically that people hear about us, come to some meetings and get to know us a bit, and if they decide that it's something they want to join, they pay the membership dues and sign a liability waiver. that's it...it's informal, it's open to anyone, and there's no application form.<br>
