Any reasons not to join the existing hackerspace in Brussels? They
probably can use additional participants and have a place (not the
biggest in the BeNeLux, but it seems decent to me).

The Reykjavik hackerspacem, HakkavéIin (http://hakkavelin.is/), is
located in the basement of the university;
Technologia Incognita (http://technologia-incognita.nl), will be moving
into a building owned by Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam, they're starting
and this is their first location.

Basically most, if not all, fablabs in .nl have strong ties with
institutions of higher education, be it universities, polytechnics or
art academies. There has been kind of a hype among municipal governments
that cities should attract the 'creative class' in order to remain
innovative and relevant. This has resulted in rather generous startup
funding for the fablabs and strong ties with educational institutions.
That particular hype is now over, but they tend to have nice gear and
nice locations for a low rent.

  Walter
