[hackerspaces] CC-licensed Maker Pedagogy (Lesson Plans, etc)?

Today at the Maker Faire, I heard an interesting panel discussion on “Education of the Future” with Jeri Elsworth, Ben Heckendorn (Ben Heck), and Mitch Altman, hosted by Michele Dawson of Napa County Office of Education. (i managed to sit next to Grant Imahara which was extra cool :-) The panelists and Michelle were talking about the how messed up education has become (at least in USA) with teaching for the standardized testing and Grades, rather than teaching how to learn etc. Then there was the talking about how cool maker spaces are with people teaching each other and project based learning. Then Michele asked about Open Source and she/panelists talked about how wonderful cool it is to have FOS hardware/software/cc licensed works, etc.

All that made me wonder - where are the open source class materials, with teacher manuals and support forums, for teaching various aspects of Maker/Hacker activities? Putting together a class for your space on electronics, (or 3d printing, or design for 3d printing, or sign making, or using a CNC router bot, or learning physics/chemistry using maker/hacker tools or...) can be a daunting task. It takes a LOT of prep work to put together a class the first time - and then it needs tweaking based on experience, etc.

It would be a terrific service to the greater community to have some CC (or similar) licensed teaching materials for project based learning in a maker space setting.

Has anyone done or seen such works out on the web?
Is there interest out there from other spaces in sharing and working on developing some curriculum and support materials? (like questions teachers can ask students to get them thinking of applications, etc?)
